Coronavirus Move-In Guarantee

Our Coronavirus Move-in Guarantee has been developed to give you peace of mind when moving into a new home. Our Coronavirus Move-in Guarantee is designed to give you reassurance about moving into one of our family homes or shared houses.
What does the Coronavirus Move-in Guarantee Cover?
You are covered in the event of:
- UK Government restrictions on travel due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
- The shared house you are due to move into is self-isolating due to COVID-19 being present.

If any of the above apply we guarantee that you can:

- Temporarily move into a vacant room in another shared house until it is safe for you to move into your agreed room.
- Cancel your tenancy agreement and receive a full refund.

Terms and Conditions of the Coronavirus Move-in Guarantee
- We will inform you immediately if someone in the shared house that you are due to move into tests positive for COVID-19. As a precaution we will postpone your move-in date for 14 days. During this time you can either:
- stay in your current accommodation for a further 14 days. You will not be required to pay us any rent during this time,
- or we will offer you a temporary room in another ‘safe’ shared house. You will be required to pay rent to New Mills Properties during this time.
- You must notify us immediately if you become unwell or are required to self-isolate due to COVID-19. We will automatically postpone your move-in date for 14 days or until you are well enough to move. During this time, you can either:
- stay in your current accommodation for a further 14 days. You will not be required to pay us any rent during this time
- arrange alternative safe accommodation. We will help where we can but will be unable to offer temporary accommodation in an already occupied shared house. You will only be required to pay rent to us during this time if alternative accommodation is available and accepted in a New Mills Properties’ property.
- If you choose alternative New Mills Properties’ temporary accommodation, should your new room be cheaper than your existing tenancy agreement your rent will be charged at the lower rate. If your new room is more expensive than your existing tenancy agreement your rent will be charged at the rate stated on your tenancy agreement.
- Should UK Government advice significantly change in the time between signing your tenancy agreement and your move-in date, we will automatically activate or reactivate the Guarantee for you.
- We will continually monitor your situation and if necessary, postpone your move-in date for another 14 days.
- If you choose to cancel your tenancy agreement you can only do this by calling us on 01472 360178.
- The New Mills Properties Coronavirus Guarantee is available until further notice.
- All other tenancy terms and conditions remain unchanged.
